Written up afterwards

Dear fellow members and friends, We had a remarkable meeting on 21st Oct, 2008! Of course, this nice word, remarkable, is from our Grammarian, Judy Zhu. We had 3 prepared speakers, our Koby Sa, Jasmin Zhai and Robert Luo. Koby talked about “Exchange Rate”. It was the hottest topic now because of the current global financial crisis. He explained the different role of RMB & US dollar for our government, and let us understood the importance of the Exchange Rate. Nice job! As a real manager in daily life, Jasmin used a funny story to explain her topic “Manage You, Manager” perfectly.

The story was about 2 employee, when their boss asked them gave some information about potato in the market, their performance were completely different. The one took several times come back to the market to get the information his boss wanted, but the other one just use one time to answer all the boss’s questions! It’s really a simple story, but full of philosophy, both benefit for employer and employee! An amazing speech! Best Prepared Speaker! Continued with the last speech“Web Site Improving Plan”, Robert let us to discuss with him about how to make our ideas actable.

Like before, our members and friends shared many good suggestions about this topic. Such as “divide our web site into different parties and let our different member to take responsibility of the different party”, “add an IT officer”, “write stories about ourselves”, ect. Our web site improving was running to the action session! Well done, Robert! Our individual evaluators, Sun Zhang, Emily Yang ( Best Evaluator) and Jane Lee gave related speakers kind feedback and nice suggestions. “Koby, your speeches are always excellent, but maybe you can try to follow our manual.

(I think it is better for you to win in our contest later.)” That was my suggestion for Koby. Emily praised Jasmin’s good job, and suggested her to have more gestures… Well done, evaluators! Our Tammy was first as TME. Nice Job! She prepared well and gave our roles nice introduction. Also led the meeting smoothly and well. Our elegant Sara was as GE. She showed her kind feedback and good suggestions to all speakers. I have learnt more from her about running club meeting well. Thank you, my mentor, Sarah! Our Grammarian Judy, Timer Laura and Ah-Counter Eric did well.

They kept on their duty and led the meeting smoothly and very well. At the end, I need to point out my double mistakes as VPE. 1. I did not let our Timer Laura know her duty well. Sorry, Laura. 2. I did not arrange Robert’s speech (it is not Table Topic.) well in our agenda. It made us confused, especially for Sarah. Sorry, everyone. I knew my mistakes. But Toastmasters is the right place to make mistakes. Later, I am sure I will improve them and present coming remarkable meetings for all of you as VPE!: ) Thank you very much for joining and enjoying in our meeting.

Have a happy life!

Sincerely, Sun Zhang and Tammy Tan
