Meeting #123

123rd Meeting

DateTuesday, 17 June 2008

The invitation

Be a Non-Stop learning machine.

The world is changing rapidly. So think about the possibility of reinventing yourself every year. Because the world will not stay the same, you can’t stay the same. As French philosopher Henri Bergson once said:” To exist is to change, to change is to mature, to mature is to go on creating oneself endlessly.” So how to reinventing yourself? To be a learner! What is a learner? I think learners can be identified by the following activities: 1. They read books. 2. They ask others. Are you always to be a learner? Are you ready to be a Non-Stop learning machine? Let us talk about it. 123th Meeting Agenda ( July. 1, 2008)

Written up afterwards

June 17th, 2008 by Tammy Last night we began our meeting with the most concerned subject nowadays in our life – Home. TTM Emily guided us faced to the fact, for the tremendously increased housing price in the past two years, many person had to choose the way of housing mortgage loan and spent 15 to 30 years of their life working hard to pay back the money… So pity that we work many years just for a house, but there’re still so many people join in the line, just because everyone wants to have a home. How lucky our Table topic master Jasmin was that she bought her house before the flush increase of the housing price.

Koby, a very nice gentleman, our guest, gave his option first as a volunteer. Hennah, a very beautiful girl from Xiamen Toast Masters’Club, told us her dream house with 4 floors, for her friends, parents and her Mr. Right. Maybe that also many people’s dream house. And Robert told us when is the right time to get a house with lower price. In the prepared session, our sunshine boy Sun gave us the story about his father’s love. Father always show his love with no trace, many person would understand this till they grown up.

Alpha was a good son, as a local of Shenzhen city, he was more futunate than a lot of people, because he could see his parents everyday, he also cherished his family, and advised us go home if had chance. Judy told us the changes in her life after she focus on what she had, maybe the shortage in the mind of yourself was the different scene in others’eyes. The short body could be cute, the irregular teeth would be your feature. With the changes our Mini Judy become a confident lovely girl and even she get BF from the benefit of these changes, and also, she won the speech this night.

Can u speak Japanese? Chinese could pride that everyone knows some Japanese even never learned Japanese. Such as the word Student. But there were other words would make you jokes. Sarah told us should take care the following occasions. If u want to send a Letter to your mather, the word Letter in Japanese is the meaning of tissue in Chinese. And if u want to some drink some dilicines soup in Japan, the Chinese character Soup in Japanese means bath.. So learning Japanese is really an interesting thing. Our experienced evaluator team, Hennah, Nadia, Robert and Jane evaluated the 4 speakers’ speech, and gave them the suggestion of their opnion.

With their encouragement the speakers will do better and better. Then General evaluator Jane gave a conclusion of the meeting, not only the good performance but also the shortage the one should pay attention to. If you want to step up your communication skills, welcome to Toast Masters’ Club! If you want to get more friends, welcome here, too!
